About

As part of the prestigious SICK 10k Challenge, this project involved leading one of only 13 teams worldwide to develop an advanced guiding robot designed to aid disabled individuals. The robot was built on the AgileX mobile platform, leveraging state-of-the-art 3D LiDAR technology and stereo cameras, integrated within the ROS framework to enable real-time mapping, sensing, SLAM, and RRT planning.

A key innovation in this project was the development of a novel force control system, uniquely tailored to accommodate individual users, ensuring dynamic obstacle avoidance and providing a smooth, responsive user experience. The successful implementation of these technologies not only demonstrated the robot's advanced autonomous capabilities but also highlighted the potential of robotics to significantly improve accessibility and mobility for disabled individuals.
